Description: “The Dreams paint'ing series is based on the strange and spooky dreams I have frequently. In my dream, a cloaked figure grew out of a carnivorous plant in the palms greenhouse at Kew Gardens. As she stepped toward me, her limbs began gently waving out and she held monkey jugs spilling with blood and honey. I wasn't afraid of her, she felt protective.

Zeena Wright AlTai is a drawer and installation artist obsessed with textiles, paint, and botanicals working out of Glasgow, Scotland. Employing wordplay, smut, and tongue-in-cheek metaphors, Wright AlTai portrays womxn luxuriating in surreal environments, sometimes marvelling at the incredulous functions of their bodies and the environments around them. This composition-making is made in stark contrast to the dire realities of later-stage capitalism, rapidly changing landscapes, and violence against womxn. Wright AlTai gained her AA from Parsons School of Design in 2017, her BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting with First Class Honours from UAL: Wimbledon College of Arts, and is currently studying MFA Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art.
